English Language Arts Program: Grade 9-12

Mililani’s English Language Arts curriculum is designed to provide students opportunities to develop all language arts skills and to meet the Common Core State Standards for Language Arts. All courses emphasize reading skills (literature, informative text and media literacy), writing skills (argumentative, informative and narrative), language skills (vocabulary, grammar and conventions), and speaking and listening skills (discussion and presentation). English is a required course for all students in each grade level. Note: Students must successfully pass each course before moving on to the next level. Taking English in the summer is for remediation ONLY.

Student Support Offerings:

The MHS English Department offers Free after school tutoring in N-104 Tuesday and Friday from 3pm - 4pm. Subject to change without notice.
