Class of 2023 Commencement Information

The Class of 2023 Commencement Exercises will take place on:
Tuesday, May 16, 2023
at the SimpliFi Arena at the Stan Sheriff Center 
University of Hawaii at Manoa
6:00pm

Graduation practice is on Friday, May 12, 2023 and Monday, May 15, 2023 at Mililani High School for seniors who have fulfilled all graduation requirements. Practice is MANDATORY for all seniors participating in the ceremony. Students must check in by 8:00 a.m. at the MHS gym.

DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS

Option #1

  • Black Slacks, ankle length  (NO JEANS)
  • Black Dress Shoes with Black Socks. (NO CASUAL FOOTWEAR SUCH AS SANDALS, SLIPPERS, AND ATHLETIC SHOES).
  • BLACK, Collared Dress Shirt (short sleeve or long sleeve is acceptable)- no print or stripes

Option #2

  • BLACK dress (no print) that has a hem line 1-2 inches above the hem of the gown 
  • BLACK sandals with straps  or BLACK dress shoes. For safety reasons, we recommend that heels be no higher than 2 ½ inches. NO SLIPPERS, CROCS, OR ATHLETIC SHOES ALLOWED.

*Note: The dress should NOT be seen ABOVE the neckline or BELOW the hem of the gown.

  • BLACK short-sleeved blouse (no print)
  • Black skirt that has the hem line 1-2 inches above the hem of the gown (NO DENIM SKIRTS)
  • BLACK sandals with  straps or BLACK dress shoes. For safety reasons, we recommend that heels be no  higher than 2 ½ inches. NO SLIPPERS, CROCS, OR ATHLETIC SHOES ALLOWED.

*Note: The dress/blouse/skirt should not be seen ABOVE the neckline or BELOW the hem of the gown.

Prohibited Items List:
  • No weapons (i.e. guns, knives, batons, etc.).
  • No tobacco products, e-cigs, vapes, etc. (UH is a tobacco free campus).
  • No food or beverages (i.e. alcohol beverages, ”tailgating”,  bentos, setting up a food line, etc.)
  • No coolers.
  • No confetti, silly string, glitter, streamers, poppers, and/or any device that will emit celebratory items.
  • No fireworks or devices that will emit smoke and/or sparks.
  • No drones.  
  • No pull wagons or carts.
  • No tables and/or chairs. Exception: wheelchair and rollator.
  • No bicycle, e-bike, skateboard, scooters, motorized scooters, mopeds, etc.
  • No pets. Exception: Service dog (Emotional support animals, comfort animals, and therapy dogs are not service animals under Title II and Title III of the ADA).
  • All signs must be hand held. No staking into the turf, no large frame, no securing to any fence or structure. As a courtesy to fellow graduates and safety for all, signs should be limited to a manageable size.   
 

Families and guests will not be admitted until all of the graduates have entered the field.


Additional charges to the school will be assessed if damages and/or excessive cleanup are the result of noncompliance to University, Athletics, and Stadium rules.a

  • April 1: Last Day to order Cap & Gown
  • April 25: Project Grad Meeting @ MHS Cafe, 7pm
  • May 12: Grad Practice
  • May 15: Grad Practice
  • May 16: Graduation!
  • May 18: Diploma Pick-Up on Thursday, May 18 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.
