Students that receive passing AP Test scores may receive college credits. You should check with the Admissions Office of colleges you are considering to view the AP credits and scores the college will accept.
Pre AP
Mililani offers classes with curricula designed to challenge advanced students in both creativity and critical thinking. Students enrolled in the pre AP class will be in an advanced and accelerated learning environment with other students of similar abilities and interests. It is the intent of the program to provide opportunities for growth to those students who demonstrate the ability to go beyond standards and to prepare them for Advanced Placement courses. Parents and students should be aware of the academic rigor of these courses.
AP Capstone Diploma Program
The AP Capstone is built on the foundation of two courses - AP Seminar and AP Research - and is designed to complement and enhance the in-depth, discipline-specific study provided through AP courses. Students can earn an AP Capstone Diploma or an AP Seminar and Research Certificate. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both of the AP Capstone courses and on four additional AP Exams of their choosing will receive the AP Capstone Diploma. Students who earn scores of 3 or higher in both of the AP Capstone courses but not on the four additional AP Exams will receive the AP Seminar and Research Certificate. Students interested in AP Capstone must also adhere to the requirements listed for the Advanced Placement Program. Please note that the AP Capstone Diploma and AP Seminar and Research Certificate is separate from the high school diploma and honors recognition certificates offered by the State of Hawaii Department of Education. However, the AP Seminar and AP Research courses can be applied to the Dept. of Education Academic Honors Certificate.

AP Seminar is a foundational course that engages students in cross-curricular conversations. Students learn to synthesize information from multiple sources, develop their own perspectives in research-based written essays, and design and deliver oral and visual presentations. Ultimately, the course aims to equip students with the power to analyze and evaluate information with accuracy and precision in order to craft and communicate evidence-based arguments.
AP Research I XAP1100 I Credit Value: 1
AP Research allows students to deeply explore an academic topic, problem, or issue of individual interest. Students design, plan, and conduct a year-long research based investigation to address a research question. The course culminates in an academic paper (accompanied by a performance or exhibition of product where applicable) and a presentation with an oral defense.
