good morning Trojans my name is Elizabeth Johnson and this is your Wednesday broadcast for we discuss things that matters to you because what matters to you is what matters to us we know that it is important to keep this community safe the past year has focused on health safety in order to keep covid-19 maintained in our community sometimes we forget the impact that are safety precautions have on people that are at risk if they catch this disease in the segment movie featuring a true story from Logan Bennett on her experience with j i a witch will be narrated by Kobe Lynn Guerrero it all began at a very young age when I complain to my parents while pain in my knees and whatever what's the doctor he told us that it was nothing to worry about and it was probably just growing pains since I was still very little and that they would stop and I got older is that became a team to paint only got worse how to find my finger swelling up and mine music it's swollen to the point where I couldn't even walk it was like that all through my early years of high school I would push it aside and think it was nothing until one morning my back was in so much pain that I couldn't get up I laid in bed I thought to myself where is this pain even coming from finally I said enough is enough and my parents reached out to rheumatoid arthritis specialist from the first appointment she noticed that I was having very high levels of inflammation in the previous blood test Megan just started me on a leave because she said it would help me with the information sadly the pain only got worse I had more days and not being able to get up or my knees are so swollen that I could barely walk my back was especially having a rough time she had me do an MRI to see what was going on so fast forward to my next re appointment and come to find out that I have juvenile idiopathic arthritis arthritis is also an autoimmune disease which can cause me to become very sick. easily that's right it is in my hips my pelvic bone and my lower spine area I didn't even know we had a joint back there if I was being completely honest they started me on Humira and I want to take one shot every two weeks where is an autoimmune suppressant for the fact that I already have a weak immune system it was like moving day for infections after I took my first Humira shot I had ended up with a kidney infection Gia is no joke and I wouldn't wish is upon anyone I wake up in pain almost every day and it's a constant fight with my own mindset because there's no cure for Jay there's only treatments to lessen the chance of it spreading to anywhere extremely hard I'm going to keep waking up in pain going to be many more days and not being able to get up but I'm strong and I know I can get through this I do with blood test every other week and constant doctor appointment this disease will not take over me if you would like to be featured in our next morning bulletin contact Elizabeth Johnson at 2021 Johnson at Mililani HS.
