good my name is Ivy Morita I'm a senior and it is my second year as your Senate chairperson today launches the start of the RSVP program here NHS it was my goal to get more students involved in making a difference at our school and this program will really help to solidify that here RSVP stands for student voice and participation it is a nationally recognized student engagement program it will be done in three main steps called summits tell me group will be your advisory class we will be going through Summit one today RSVP is a student-led program where you will able to voice your thoughts and bring up changes that you'd like to see your advisory class should have a senate representative who attended the summit training he or she will be the facilitator today  otherwise your teacher or another student will need to lead today's Summit the role of the Tater is to lead your advisory through each Summit session you want to provide the opportunity for students to share their thoughts and ideas freely the ideas play listed on chart paper that will be turned in at the end of the day the students will vote on the top two issues they feel are most pressing the facilitator following the prompts in this video to help walk the class through today's advisory for main goals Twin Creeks student involvement but working on issues that matter to wants to involve students in the school decision making process to make change in our schools and communities and to increase our interest and involvement in Civic issues Senators receive a teal RSVP at the meeting on Monday that will help in this process teachers your Center did not attend Monday's meeting the folder was placed in your box what day is advisor before we begin keep these ground rules in mind respect each other's ideas do not judge any idea on purchase please stay off your phones and get engaged in the school-wide student initiated project today's to get the school talking about issues matter to them choose one person to write all of your classes thoughts on the chart paper they will be your recorder for today the two sheets try paper are broken up into two sections we're going to start with the chart paper about the positives about our school and community and important step to change is recognizing the things that are already good and doing well at our school and Community you will have 9 minutes to list all of the things you like about MHS and Airline Community your Senator or teacher will facilitate this portion and the recorder will write down the idea of your class provides okay let's be turns halfway up make sure you start talking about the second column if you haven't already Alright good job guys now we're going to move on to the changes and improvements about our school and Community do you have the next 9 minutes to list things you change or improve about MHS and the Mililani community you're a senator or teacher will facilitate this part and the reporter will love your ideas ready begin runs halfway up make sure you start talking about the second column if you haven't already great job okay now we will be focusing in on the school Improvement you will pick the top two issues that you'd want to dress as a change for a school it should be relevant and important to the student body your Senator will pass out to sticker dots for you to use to vote stick your sticker dots next to the to school improvements that you think should be focused on it's not much time left so please cast your vote now remember your voting on the school change column vote now thank you so much for being a part of the RSVP process we will be taking the results from all the advisory classes and compiling it for the next Senate Senators and advisory please make sure to turn in the Char papers on to RSVP folders into view on the 5 or the RSVP box in the front office by the end of the day today January thank you Melanie
